How can you use blogs in your classroom?
  • Student blogging offers students an opportunity to summarize information, practice writing skills, and collaborate with others.
  • summarize the learning for the day, week, or unit of study
  • create their own blog to post their assignments to
  • respond to blog posts as assignments
  • collaborate with others and comment on their posts
  • great way to share your learning with parents and others outside the classroom

Managing workflow
Now you have a blog, how to do you manage work flow?
  • The easiest way to have students submit their work to the blog is through an email draft post (follow the directions on this link)
  • You can set it up where posts must be approved before going live
  • If you use iPads this can be set as an address in the contacts
  • If each student has their own blog. Then use BlogLovin to manage and follow all blogs in one spot.

Stepping outside your classroom
  • Think about having a personal education blog. It is a great way to reflect on your own teaching and share your ideas with others.
  • If your on social media, many teachers have FB or Instagram accounts. Many of these teachers also have blogs to follow.
  • Promote your blog on social media to gain followers. Try Twitter use #MOedchat
  • You can use BlogLovin again to track these new blogs you want to follow.
